What’s On the Horizon?

My work, like the world around us, is evolving. As I have been paying more and more attention to surface treatment, I have become enamored with atmospheric washes. To my great surprise, these washes are providing beautiful backgrounds for my animal work. Animals grounded by recently introduced horizon lines (an about-face from previous series of seemingly floating animals) this new work is proving to be both a challenge and eye-opening journey. Some close to me have stated they enjoy the simplicity of the backgrounds as they are, i.e. without animals or geometric shapes. I’m about to visit Arizona in about a week and I’m sure I’ll have some inspiration from the landscapes out there. Keep looking, there may be a new series of landscapes in the future.
