It’s no coincidence that the colors I use in my paintings are inspired by my upbringing and my current surroundings. Whether it be peeling paint that reveals contrasting colors beneath on a dilapidated playground slide that my son just slid down or the eclectic color scheme of set decoration in a favorite movie or television show. These paintings shout out my experiences and influences with a humorous absurdity.
With a hint of my favorite childhood television show, Miami Vice, Sweet Cobra’s color palette is directly taken from one of my son’s DUPLO block creations.
