Original art and environmental education are together at last! For the last couple of weeks I have been working hard on this special project. I have just finished up a one of a kind, custom art rain barrel for the upcoming “Roll Out the Barrels” program in Athens, GA. The barrel features a painting of two foxes facing each other with a diamond and other geometric shapes between them. They are connected by their love of the hunt for adaptation to their environments. I am thrilled to be a part of this program this year and in good company with some of Athens finest artists.

Roll Out the Barrels is an annual event that raises awareness of runoff, water pollution, and water conservation. The program also promotes local artists and supports environmental education. Local artists turn rain barrels into beautiful pieces of functional art to be auctioned off in support of the Athens Green School Program. The Athens Green School Program is an initiative to ensure environmental education is taught in the classroom. The auction will take place on Thursday, May 26th from 5-8 p.m at Southern Brewing Company. Hope to see you there!
