I am thrilled to announce that I have signed on with A.T. Hun Gallery in my old stomping grounds of Savannah, Georgia. This lovely Spanish mossed oak tree town was highly influential in my youth while attending School of Visual Arts (not S.C.A.D. – ask me about it sometime!) in the mid-90s. I was painting student by day and dancin’ fool by night. I spent the evenings at a local watering whole, Velvet Elvis, and saw loads of touring garage, surf, punk, and rockabilly shows there. I even had the pleasure of catching Ray Charles (for free!) at the civic center. Rock n Roll is in my blood and was infused in me at a young age. When I wasn’t in the audience at a show I was playing in various rock n roll bands myself, and painting constantly while learning an immense amount of oil painting technique, sculpture, drawing, and animation from a wealth of seasoned professors. This lovely swampy town, with haunted history, densely populated art, and rock n roll attitude helped shape me as a person!
I am headed down there at this very moment to (hopefully) catch some surf on near-by Tybee Island and recharge with some coastal vibrations. If you are in the area, I highly recommend swinging by the gallery which is located in the City Market (coincidentally where I sat behind my blue sparkled drum kit to play an outdoor show with my garage-punk band, The Flys) It was a blast aaaaaaand hot. Hotter than Georgia asphalt!
