Day 30 of October Bats takes us to the wonderful island of Madagascar where the truly stunning Grandidier’s Trident Bat hangs out. This striking bat is endemic to a sporadic section of Madagascar. They seem to prefer smaller numbers in their colonies and enjoy vocal communications. They love grabbing some breakfast of various insects in the dry forest. Their leaf nose is unique in that it has three lancets (hence the name trident)
Favorite color: Lime Green
