October Bats continues on day 16! By special request I present to you the Florida Bonneted Bat. It is the largest and the rarest bat (only about 3-5000 left) in Florida, weighing in whopping 2.3 ounces. They squat in natural cavities like trees but also building crevices. They are ambiverts. Roosting alone or in small groups.
Their beetle and fly stew is to die for.
Every one of their playlists contains a Tom Petty song
