Arctic Circles is one in my series of wildlife preservation artworks. I hand built the wood substrate from birch and pine. I painted the polar bear in a realistic manner, but with some loose multicolor brush strokes. Thick dark green, almost black covers the foreground. The painting features my diagonally divided background. I used bright orange to cover the background. Small circles in a polka-dot pattern are etched in the orange field using graphite.
