Last year I had the pleasure of submitting a design to the city of Johnson City for their traffic control box wraps project. Inspired by their monthly phenomenon, Taco Trek, I came up with “Taco Time”. Taco Trek is an event where locals gather at a Trek bicycle store and parade a route and devour tacos and beer at the finish. Some people even dress up and ride fancy bikes. It’s a bit like a bicycle parade as opposed to a bicycle race.
This fun design takes direct inspiration from the world famous Taco Trek. While the background depicts bicycle wheels, the colorful raccoons conjure up the playfulness and uniqueness of this global phenomenon.
My design was one of a few selected and the wraps were recently installed. (The Jonson City Press recently featured it right here.) Check out “Taco Time” and the feature below! Many Thanks to Johnson City Press and Jonathan Roberts for the coverage!
