Frequently Asked Questions

Why Bats?

Bats, raccoons, opossums, and more outcast animals are at the heart of my paintings. Although my family is super close, I was a bit of black sheep growing up. My affinity for the underdog began early on as I was subject of being called “weird” and shun for my oddball behavior. My love for bats is linked to taking care of the rejected animals at my father’s veterinary practice. As an outcast myself I quickly developed a connection to misunderstood animals.

Why Donuts?

Donuts are the ultimate symbol of fun. I freaking love donuts. Always have. My dad used to keep some sweet sixteen powdered donuts out as his veterinary clinic. I would sneak a couple during breaks. The donuts, pizza, vinyl records, etc. that are common in my paintings are all party favors from my childhood that exude positivity, acceptance, and partying. I use these items to foster inclusion and understanding. All to put a positive spin on oft misunderstood and even vilified beings such as mentioned above.

Do you offer installment payment plans?

I gladly accept installment payment plans for all original paintings. I am super flexible about payment plans because I want my work to be affordable and so it’s easy for you to have more art in your life!  Payment plans can be set for the same amount per month, as low as $50 per month, although I recommend about $100 a month for larger paintings if that’s manageable. We can also flex the payment amounts, if that helps. There’s no interest, but the payments are non-refundable. Payments are made by PayPal, Venmo, or check on the same day each month–I can ping a reminder if that’s helpful. Once paid in full, I ship the painting to you! If something happens and you can’t finish payments, I’ll work with you and we will figure out a plan.

Do you accept commissioned projects?

Along with my studio paintings and mural work, from time to time I open up my schedule to accept commission projects. Commissions are a wonderful way for you and I to work together on a personalized painting to suit your unique needs.

You can find out more about the commission process right here!

Ever since the smell and feel of finger-paint hit my tiny hands at the age of 4 I have been making art. I attended various art schools and received my B.F.A. from San Francisco Art Institute in 1999. I have been painting professionally ever since.
